What does it feel like?
Everyone experiences trance in different ways. Some people feel a heaviness of their limbs and body, whilst others feel lightness. Some have tingling in their fingers or toes, and others see colours.
Is it possible to stay in a hypnotized state?
No. Not at all. You can come out of the hypnotic state whenever you want to and there is no lasting sleepiness (although you will feel good)!
Will I lose consciousness?
No. You will be aware of what is happening at all times. You will know where you are and what you are doing. You can return to being fully awake at any time that you chose.
Are there different levels of hypnosis and what happens if I can’t be hypnotised?
Pretty much everyone can go into a hypnotic trance – it is simply a state of relaxation, a bit like daydreaming. Very light levels of relaxation are needed for clients to get therapeutic benefit from the therapy
Will you be able to get me to do daft stuff?
Absolutely not. You will be in control at all times. Suggestions are tailored to you and will always be positive. And in any event, you can choose whether or not to accept any suggestions that are made.
How many appointments will I need?
Solutions Focused Hypnotherapy is a relatively short-term therapy. The number of sessions will depend on your individual issues. I will be able to give you an indication at the free Initial Consultation. You are always encouraged to move quickly through therapy and of course, you can stop at any time.
